Little Raccoon and the thing in the poolLittle Raccoon was little but he was brave. One day Mother Raccoon asked him to go alone toward the fast stream and bring crayfishes by the dinner. And she recommended him to go to another side of the pool through with a big tree throwing over it – according to her it was the best place for hunting crayfishes. Little Raccoon was alone in the forest for the first time in his life. But he wasn't scared because he was very brave.
Soon Little Raccoon entered in the very thick forest. The Old Porcupine which rested there was very surprised seeing that Little Raccoon was walking across the forest alone. So the Old Porcupine asked him where he was going quite alone, without his mother. Little Raccoon answered with pride that he was going to the fast stream to hunt crayfishes. Than he wondered if Little Raccoon feared. He replied he didn't. He was little but he was brave.
Little Raccoon went on his way under the light of bright moon. Soon he came to the glade. The Big Skunk was sitting there. He was wondered why Little Raccoon was walking across the forest without his mother and asked him about it. Little Raccoon explained he was going to the fast stream to hunt the crayfishes. Big Skunk wondered if Little Raccoon feared. He replied he didn't and went later. He was little but he was vary brave.
Not far from the pool he saw the Fat Rabbit who was sleeping. He half-opened his one eye and jumped up with fright. Being aware that it was only Little Raccoon he cooled and enquired where he was going alone, without his mother. Little Raccoon replied with pride that he was going to the fast stream which was located on the other side of the pool. Fat Rabbit warned him to go there because there was somebody sitting in the water. Little Raccoon said he was afraid of nothing and went later.
But when he began to cross the pool he looked down and got very frightened – somebody was sitting there. He pulled faces and thing in the pool pulled faces too. Little Raccoon ran away very fast by Fat Rabbit until he saw Big Skunk. Big Skunk asked him what was happened. And when Little Raccoon answered he advised him to take a stone and show it to the thing sitting in the pool. Little Raccoon did so. He took the stone and went back to the pool. But when he raised it over his head he saw that thing in the pool also raised a stone. It was very big stone and Little Raccoon got frightened. He ran away very fast by Fat Rabbit and Big Skunk until he saw Old Porcupine.
Old Porcupine wondered what had happened. When Little Raccoon answered he advised him to take a stick. And Little Raccoon did so. He took the stick and went back to the pool. But when he raised the stick and threatened he saw the thing sitting in the pool also had a stick. It was very big stick. Little Raccoon got frightened and ran away by Fat Rabbit, Big Skunk and Old Porcupine until he saw his home.
He told his mother about fearful thing in the pool and she advised him to go there once again. But this time he shouldn't pull faces, take a stone or a stick. He just should smile at the thing sitting in the pool. Little Raccoon did so. He went to the pool, looked in the water and smiled. And the thing sitting in the pool smiled at him too. Little Raccoon was very happy. Now he didn't afraid at all. He crossed the pool and hunted as many crayfishes as he could bear.
